Course Description
Training specialists from Metro Vancouver YWCA and the Operating Engineers union provide personal support and coaching as you progress through classroom learning, hands-on field training, and a supervised work term with a major construction employer in the Lower Mainland. Past graduates from this course have gone directly into good-paying construction jobs.
Pre-Requisites
Program admission requirements are as follows:
- Currently on EI or had an EI claim in the last five years, or earned more than $2,000 in insurable earnings and paid employee EI premiums on those earnings in at least five of the last 10 years, or a British Columbia Employment and Assistance Client
- Have a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
