Waste Water Treatment Worker


Duties and Responsibilities: • Operating computerized control systems and related equipment in water filtration and treatment; • Monitor and inspect plant equipment and systems to detect equipment malfunctions and to ensure plant systems are operating normally; • Read flow meters, gauges and other recording instruments to measure water output and consumption levels, bacterial content, chlorine and fluoride levels; • Collect water samples for chemical and bacterial content; • In coordination with project quality department, analyse test results and instrument readings and make adjustments to plant equipment and systems to ensure quality control; • Provide verbal or written instructions for process control changes to waterworks system to ensure water produced meets standardized quality requirements; • Perform security checks in plant and on grounds; • Complete and maintain plant logs, reports and statistics

JOB LOCATION: Vancouver, BC
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 2 Years
CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Wastewater Treatment Level IV Certification by BCWWA, EOCP or equal.

Requirements

• Wastewater Treatment Level IV Certification by BCWWA, EOCP or equal. • Applicant must possess a valid Driver’s License and good driving record. • Current B.C. Cross Connection Control certificate is an asset. • Certification as a Wastewater Treatment Operator, Level IV in the province of B.C. • Minimum two years of professional experience as a Level IV Operator in the operation and maintenance of a small to medium wastewater treatment facility. • Previous experience in a mechanical trade or power engineer position in an industrial or large institutional or commercial setting.
Ability to work rotational shifts.
